TO DO

The red gorges

Cians Gorges : the Cians has its sources in the Mercantour National Park, at the foot of Mont Mounier (2817m). Small alpine torrent sometimes dry, sometimes impetuous when the snow melts, it throws itself in the Var after having spawned 23 km of an acrobatic course, weaving through deep and narrow clues. Note the geological contrast between the crystalline basement of the Barrot, recognizable by its red earth (pelites composed of volcanic sediments and lake mud at the end of the primary) and the Beuil site, seated on sedimentary series of marl and deposited limestone on the pedestal in the secondary era.

Daluis Gorges : huge walls cut in red shale, similar to those of Cians, more flared. At the bottom of these "canyons" (more than 300m downhill) flows the Var in wild and magical settings. The old path of smugglers, allows, in the beauty of these landscapes and by marked trails to pass from village to village.

In the mountains, in the forest

Territory of the Alpes de Haute Provence nested in the Maritime Alps on the edge of the Mercantour National Park we pass in a few kilometers through a multitude of landscapes: olive trees where the cicadas sing, with pine forests, then chestnut and larch trees, in the mountain pastures which overlook the gorges.

So many types of hikes (on foot, by mountain bike and on horseback): sporty at the top of the ridges or more peaceful in the undergrowth. Entrevaux is also one of the stages of the GR4, which departs from Grasse to cross all of Provence and the South of France.

In the river

Whitewater sports : another way to discover the sumptuous settings of our territory, thanks to the activities offered along the Var, or its tributaries. These translucent white waters are accessible all year round due to their natural flow. In spring, when the snow melts, the river swells with water and turns into an extremely physical course for all rafting fans. In summer, the level is lower but canoeing and tubing allow a sporty and refreshing descent. Without forgetting the canyons where one succeeds: slides, jumps, abseils, for real adventures full of thrills!

Fishing : A real paradise for lovers of river or lake fishing.

Yohann, a qualified fishing guide, offers you the discovery of aquatic environments and ecosystems, guided walks in the river or sea trips and awareness of the protection of fauna, flora and biodiversity.
